Works
Sculptra is not a traditional filler. Its active ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid, is a biocompatible synthetic that stimulates your body's own collagen over a series of treatments. There is no immediate volume. Results appear gradually over three to six months and can last two years or more.
Because results come slowly, Sculptra suits patients who prefer gradual change, not those who want an immediate result.
Dr. Schwartz uses Sculptra mainly when volume is lost across much of the face, where filling each area separately would take an unrealistic amount of product and look less natural.

Sculptra results emerge gradually over 3 to 6 months as collagen builds. Most patients need 2 to 3 treatment sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Longevity is its advantage
Results from a Sculptra treatment series can last 2 years or more, longer than most hyaluronic acid fillers. The collagen is your own and moves naturally with your face.
Sculptra Aesthetic
Sculptra Aesthetic is manufactured by Galderma and is FDA-approved for the correction of shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds in immunocompetent patients. It is supplied as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder that is mixed with sterile water before injection.
Nodules and irregularities usually come from the wrong dilution, poor technique, too little massage afterwards or choosing the wrong patient.

Sculptra works best where volume is lost over a broad area. Stimulating collagen across the whole area looks more natural there than many separate filler injections.
Temple Hollowing
The temples hollow early in facial aging. Sculptra fills them gradually, without the heavy look traditional fillers can give here.
Cheek & Midface Volume
When the midface has lost a lot of volume over a broad area, Sculptra avoids the large amounts of HA filler that would otherwise be needed.
Jawline & Lower Face
Sculptra improves skin quality and mild laxity along the jawline and lower face, alongside firmer fillers or surgery.
