Fits
Restylane is Galderma's family of hyaluronic acid fillers, in clinical use for about two decades. Its gels hold together well and move with the face.
Dr. Schwartz chooses between Juvéderm and Restylane area by area, based on your anatomy. He most often uses Restylane in the lips, the tear trough and the fine lines around the mouth.
NASHA technology
Restylane uses Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (NASHA) technology, which makes a gel of fine particles that holds its shape with little swelling.
Fully reversible
Like all hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane can be dissolved with hyaluronidase at any time, so results can be adjusted or fully reversed.

Lip Enhancement
Restylane Kysse and Silk are made for the lips: soft enough to move naturally, without the stiffness or overfilled look of heavier fillers.
Tear Trough & Under-Eye
Restylane-L is among the preferred products for tear trough correction because it holds together and absorbs little water, which lowers the risk of the puffiness some fillers cause in this delicate area.
Cheeks & Midface Volume
Restylane Lyft gives firm, lasting lift in the cheek area and is FDA-approved for midface augmentation. Results typically last 12 months or longer.
Nasolabial Folds & Marionette Lines
Restylane Defyne and Refyne are made with XpresHAn technology so they flex with the face while softening deeper folds. Refyne treats moderate folds; Defyne treats deeper ones.
Perioral Lines
Restylane Silk's fine particles suit shallow placement in the fine vertical lines above the lip, where heavier fillers can look unnatural.
Hand Rejuvenation
Restylane Lyft is FDA-approved for the backs of the hands, where it restores volume so tendons and veins are less visible.
What Patients Ask
Both are hyaluronic acid fillers, but they are made with different technologies that give gels of different texture. Restylane's NASHA technology makes a more particulate gel that sits precisely in the tissue. Juvéderm's Vycross technology makes a smoother gel. Neither is better everywhere; the right choice depends on the treatment area and your anatomy.
Duration varies by product and location. Restylane Lyft in the cheeks lasts 12 months or longer. Lip products typically last 6 to 9 months. Nasolabial fold treatment lasts approximately 12 months. Individual metabolism makes a large difference to how long it lasts.
Most Restylane products contain lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. Topical anesthetic is applied beforehand. The treatment is generally well tolerated; the lips are the most sensitive area.
Swelling, redness, and mild bruising at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within 3 to 7 days. Results are visible immediately, and the final result shows once the swelling settles. Avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours reduces bruising risk.
Yes. Restylane is often combined with neuromodulators at the same appointment. It can also be used alongside energy-based treatments; discuss the timing and order at your consultation.
