Uses Filler
Juvéderm is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers, each made for particular areas of the face: the under-eye, lips, cheeks, jawline and nasolabial folds. No single filler does everything well, so Dr. Schwartz chooses the right product for each area and injects it at the right depth.
Faces lose volume in a pattern. As the cheeks lose volume, for example, the lines from nose to mouth deepen. Dr. Schwartz treats the areas that have lost volume rather than filling each line.

Hyaluronic acid is reversible
All Juvéderm products are hyaluronic acid-based and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed, so results can be adjusted or fully reversed.
Results are immediate
Unlike collagen stimulators, Juvéderm results are visible the same day. Minor swelling settles within a few days, and the final result shows within one to two weeks.
The Juvéderm Family
Allergan's Juvéderm collection includes formulations for lips (Volbella, Ultra), cheeks and midface (Voluma), nasolabial folds (Ultra XC), and overall facial contouring (Volux). Each has its own viscosity, lift and longevity, from 6 months to 2 years depending on the product and location.

Cheeks & Midface
Voluma XC is FDA-approved for cheek augmentation and midface volume restoration. Results last up to 2 years.
Lip Augmentation & Definition
Volbella and Ultra XC add lip volume and definition and soften lines around the mouth, without overfilling.
Nasolabial Folds
The lines from nose to mouth deepen as midface volume is lost. Juvéderm Ultra XC softens these folds, though often the better correction is restoring the cheek volume above them.
Marionette Lines & Chin
Lines from the corners of the mouth downward respond well to filler placed along the jawline and chin. Volux gives the firmest support for defining the lower face.
Under-Eye Hollows
Volbella in the tear trough reduces the shadow and hollowing that make eyes look tired. It is one of the most technically demanding areas to inject.
Jawline Contouring
Volux XC is firm enough to define the jawline. It is often combined with chin augmentation.
What Patients Ask
Duration varies by product and location. Voluma in the cheeks lasts up to 2 years. Lip fillers typically last 6 to 12 months. Nasolabial fold treatment lasts approximately 12 months. Individual metabolism affects how long it lasts; in patients who break down filler quickly, it may wear off sooner.
All Juvéderm products contain lidocaine, which reduces discomfort significantly during injection. Topical anesthetic is applied beforehand. It usually feels like mild pressure rather than pain. Lips are the most sensitive area and may require additional numbing.
How much you need depends on how much volume you have lost, the areas being treated and your goals. Treating less at first and adding more at a follow-up gives a more natural result than over-filling in one session.
Yes. Neuromodulators treat dynamic lines caused by muscle movement. Fillers treat volume loss and static lines. Many patients have both at the same appointment.
Most patients return to normal activity immediately. Swelling and bruising are common, particularly in the lips and under-eye area, and typically resolve within 3 to 7 days. Avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and vigorous exercise for 24 hours reduces bruising risk.
Yes. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid fillers quickly and completely. That is one of the main advantages of Juvéderm over longer-lasting or permanent fillers.
