Dr. Schwartz began his undergraduate education at Yale University as a physics major — drawn to its discipline, its precision, and its demand for rigorous thinking. But the most compelling force in his life had always been people. By his junior year, he had changed his major to pre-medicine and redirected his focus to neuroscience, following the instinct that would ultimately define his career. He graduated summa cum laude and was awarded a Regents Scholarship for academic excellence at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

He then completed his residency in general surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he devoted two additional years to full-time research in plastic surgery — an investment in depth that distinguished his application and led directly to his selection for the plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, widely regarded as one of the specialty's premier training programs. It is where he chose to remain, build his practice, and ultimately found Edition Plastic Surgery.
